I was invited to take part in Fashion Revolution Week this year with Native Events and their Sustainable Fashion Show in The D-Light Studios Dublin on April 27th. I really wanted to take part in this event as they ask the question, who made your clothes?

This is a very important question to ask and it is a topic which is making people stand up and take notice. I take pride that all Saraden Designs fabrics have been made in house by myself and then I make my millinery creations also in house. Any fabric cut offs are kept and reworked into current pieces or used to create new pieces.

This is a reason why I wanted to take part in this event because I can say I make everything myself, it is not sewn by strangers or made in a factory, everything is made in house.

There were a few elements to this event, with panel discussions from experts in the industry, a market place and also a runway show. I created some new bespoke pieces for the event which you can see below and they will be going onto my online shop.

Also as part of the event I had some of my designs from Belfast Fashion Week on the runway. I chose Blossom and Trinity from ‘The White Collection’. There were some issues about how the dresses and hats were to be worn but no one in the audience seemed to notice I think it was just me who noticed because I am such a perfectionist. I have never had the chance to see my designs on the runway for myself as I am always backstage so I was delighted to be able to see them. Take a look below at some of the images from the show.
