About the Honora French & irish sustainable couture show
The Limerick Bastille Day Wild Geese Festival, in partnership with the Embassy of France in Ireland and the Holman Lee Agency, and with the support of the Limerick City & County Council, presents:
The first ever couture show in Ireland bringing together some of the most talented French, Irish and Franco-Irish designers advocating for a sustainable fashion industry! A truly extraordinary event during which over 30 designers, from established brands to rising star designers, will display their amazing creations in Limerick, at 7.45pm on Saturday 16 July, in the mangificent surroundings of St Mary’s Cathedral, for one of the most striking fashion shows. Named after lady Honora Burke, Patrick Sarsfield’s wife, whose looks, style and charisma caused a sensation at the royal court of Saint-Germain, where the couple went into exile in 1691 following the Flight of the Wild Geese, this top-notch event will make the history of the Treaty City rhyme with modernity, creativity, sustainability and diversity!
I was delighted to be invited to take part in the show with thanks to Marion cuddy. This Collection pays homage to the Brittany regional symbol the Triskel. The Triskel is the Celtic ‘Spiral of Life’, symbol which is the oldest symbol of spirituality.
Each Millinery design in the collection consists of the Triskel. There are up to . There are up to 20 Triskels in these 4 designs. Through my fabric making, sculpture and embroidery I paid homage to this beautiful symbol.
I complimented my designs with dresses in corresponding colours which I also handmade.
