london fashion week ss19 collection - september 17th 2018
On September 17th 2018 Saraden Designs walked the runway during London Fashion Week SS19. The event was held in 100 Wardour Street with IC Luxury Networking.
After dipping my toe into the waters earlier in the year I decided to put my first collection on the runway. The theme of the collection is based around the Celtic Love Knot. You can see the full press release here about the designs.
I took the shape of the love knot and recreated it 6 different ways to create the collection. I didn’t settle on one particular colour as I wanted to experiment with colour and the shapes.
I flew to London on September 16th and one thing I learnt was to never watch them load your suitcases onto the plane. Unfortunately there was one casualty with the design I was going to wear to the show. It got destroyed in transit but like any god designer I had a repair kit with me and managed to bring the design back to life.
As this was my first collection on the runway I had only prepared millinery designs and was paired with another designer. The designs didn’t really go together so have learned to created a full look to go with my vision.
Overall it was a fantastic experience, I met some designers, photographers, stylists, models etc which is always great to make new connections.
