Saraden Designs SS19 Collection – The White Collection
Belfast Fashion Week March 29th 2019
Irish Milliner Sarah O’ Rourke of Saraden Designs will present her Millinery SS19 designs at Belfast Fashion Weeks 27th season on March 29th 2019 in St Anne’s Cathedral Belfast.
Sarah has created a 15 piece
Millinery Collection called ‘The White Collection’. Saraden Designs is renowned
for its handmade Saraden Fabric. Each design has incorporated this technique in
various shades of white, with each piece of fabric constructed in house.
Sarah sculpts her fabrics
into beautiful pieces creating wearable art. Not only has Sarah created a
millinery collection she has also created a sleek and sophisticated collection
of dresses to accompany her SS19 collection.
Sarah
wanted to create not only Millinery pieces but to make pieces of wearable art
that are eye catching and echo her sculptural background. Each piece has taken
hundreds of hours from fabric making to construction to embellishment.
Embellishments
are something which is a feature in this collection especially beadwork. Hours
upon hours of intricate beading were done to finish each design with a common
beaded ball featuring throughout the collection. These beaded balls really draw
the eye and are a beautiful feature.
Sarah
wanted to strip back her colour use in this collection. There are hints of
colour throughout the designs using feathering, fabric dying and beading but
the main body of each design has been kept white.
For Sarah’s final look of the night she has created a breath-taking bridal look combing some traditional bridal elements with her wearable art.
